We made it! We're here!
I have found that it helps to have very low expectations, that way when things go great, there is a bigger sense of accomplishment. The kids did absolutely fantastic. I can't believe it myself. There were 2 moments of slight melt downs, but I would seriously call that a win. I am so proud of my kiddos. It's a long and brutal journey and they kicked airplane and airport booty!

Devon's co-worker Shu travelled with us. He was a fabulous help! |

Kids beyond tired in the taxi going to our new home |
Our apartment is in a fabulous area, right across from the botanical garden with a ton of quaint cafes around. I have my choice of coffee shops! Yay for Aussie flat whites! I went for a nice jog through the gardens this morning. The weather was perfect, the vegetation beautiful and it was fun to get out on my own to explore the area.

So many runners!

Devon went running after I did, then we got the kids ready to go and ventured out downtown for a trip to Target. Unfortunately I didn't take too many pictures. I was too enraptured in the sights around me, I totally forgot. Must remember to take more pictures!

Fountains are fun! |

Such good walkers!

We got a bunch of much needed goods at Target - i.e. a huge orange swimming noodle for Isla and a fan for their room. Hey, it beats buying a sled and a heater! :) And then we had lunch at an out door Japanese restaurant. It was hot and sweaty and hard, but I loved it! The stroller is not the triple we had on our trip to Sydney, but it's still a challenge. I love me a good challenge!
Got home and spent a nice time cooling off in the apartment pool. I think we're really going to love it here. You all should come visit! Yeah I know, it's not like it's an easy and cheap destination. But totally worth the journey.
Devon is at a work function now. I am piddling on the computer and the kids are doing this...
And this picture is for Paul, Katie and Michelle.. We do have a view of the botanical garden! The kids call our apartment 'our new home in the sky'. Such a great experience!
Ok, time to start dinner. Until next time everyone! Love you and miss you all!
You are an amazing daughter, daughter! You certainly hit the floor running this time. Guess it helps to have had previous experience! Can't wait to visit you in March!
ReplyDeleteLove hearing about your adventures...keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI am so sad to admit this, but this is the first time I have checked your blog. :( I just need to put this address in my phone and then I will check it frequently! I love these pictures and I am only partway into the posts! Thank you for doing this Mary. We miss you guys, and I totally miss seeing you and the kiddos at the gym. I hoping you have picture of the stroller with the skate board attachment! Fun!
