Day 1 Challenge - Eating well, playing hard

Getting into the habit of clean eating is hard..

Step 1 is to rid of pantry and fridge of unhealthy, non-nutritious things.  Goodbye weird lamb casserole concoction made from leftover Easter meal.  Goodbye Tim Tams (Devon took them to work), Good riddance fruit snacks, chocolate teddies, cheese and bacon flavoured crackers (really, I bought these?).  I will keep these things in the pantry because I shutter at the thought of throwing them away.  I will not be giving any of this stuff to the kids today though.

We've already had 1 tantrum:

I don't want Food, I want Snaaaacks!

And who wouldn't want to eat this!?  Whole wheat wraps, tuna salad (thanks mom and dad for leaving that here for us to use!), and cheese.  A "mandi" - mandarine oranges - Aussies like to shorten all their words here.  Makes it easier I guess.  And some craisens.

Isla likes it

Ian not convinced

Ian eats brown rice stir fry with veggies and is HAPPY!

Fresh apple, carrot juice with added cauliflower and broccoli for good measure

And a snack with our favorite trail mix.  Yum!

All in all, it was a successful day.  We had leftover pasta for dinner and more veggies, then took the kids to the mall for some good hard indoor playing in their play area.  Eating well and playing hard. That's how it should be.

Ok, I'm out for today!  Check back tomorrow for day #2!
